Laying the foundation for total health

In some ways, one could say that chiropractic care is a bit like building a house - certain things have to happen in a particular order in order for everything to stand strong and work together correctly. When building a house, if you tried to build your walls before you had a solid foundation, your walls would be weak and eventually may even collapse. If you tried to build your roof before the walls were ready, you would run into the same problem. These concepts apply to your body as well, and chiropractic care addresses many common reasons why people experience pain and other health issues. If something is not right with your body's foundation, than that needs to be addressed before true health can be achieved. With chiropractic care, your body has to go through a particular plan of care in order to repair itself correctly and fully. There are three general phases of chiropractic care . . .

Phase 1: Relief Care

If you are in pain when you come into our Tucson chiropractic office, our first objective is to help you reduce pain and start feeling better as soon as possible. Depending on the severity of the underlying condition which is causing your pain, it is typical for a patient to need chiropractic care or adjustments 2-3 times per week for 4-12 weeks.

Phase 2: Corrective/Restorative Care

During the corrective phase of chiropractic care, muscles and other tissues are allowed to heal more completely, which helps prevent further injury or pain. The goal of corrective or restorative chiropractic care is to help bring your body back to 100% functioning. It is typical to need chiropractic care or adjustments about 4-8 times per month for 6-24 months, depending on your overall health and the severity of your problem.

Phase 3: Wellness Care

Once your body has fully healed and you are no longer experiencing back pain or other pain symptoms, it is important to come in for periodic chiropractic adjustments to avoid further problems in the future. Usually, this phase of chiropractic care only requires a quick visit to the chiropractor 1-4 times per month, based on your lifestyle and goals.

  • I had been living with migraines, digestive disorders, food allergies, back pain, hip pain and debilitating muscle spasms for 15 years. The migraines were coming on four times and week and it was affecting my life. Extreme change started after my very first adjustment, I didn’t have a single migraine for two whole weeks. Now I get them once a month and honestly it only happens when I neglect my body. Because my body is working better from the treatment I received at Dr. Camacho’s office I can now eat spicy food without having to worry about the repercussions. Also, I haven’t fallen from my hips or extreme Spasms since I started treatment. I can now enjoy being able to walk for hours and dance my heart away without any problems. I can truly say for the first time in 15 YEARS I am living my life to the fullest. The best part is I still have more good health to come. I have a responsibility to now maintain all the good change that has happened to my life. There is no price tag on life….

  • As a running back during my high school football years, I was tackled, between two defenders. As I became older, I started to have back problems. For the next 40 plus years, I would stretch my back every morning while brushing my teeth by squatting against the door jam in the bathroom. To compensate for my back over the years, my neck also became out of alignment, getting headaches and not sleeping well. Both my back and my neck were now giving unbelievable pain and discomfort. After seeing Dr. Camacho, over the first two weeks, I was able to feel the difference as he was able to relieve some of the trauma in my spine. He has made adjustments to my spine and my neck and I can now say that this is the best I’ve felt in 40 years, I am now 67 years old. His treatments, adjustments, he provides in his office plus the massages from the therapist and exercises he has recommended have undoubtedly been the answer to my well being.

  • I have had lower back pain and specifically hip pain for quite awhile. I was told by two medical professionals, that I needed to have a hip replacement. There were times that I could not move because the pain was so bad. I would double over until I could maneuver my leg and hip to unlock. I wasn't sure about chiropractic treatment. Can't say I was a believer, however, I had an opportunity to meet Dr. Camacho and have been seeing him for 3 months and must say, that I have not had any hip or lower back problems the last two months, since receiving treatment. I truly believe that the combination of the Chiropractic adjustments, massages and exercises I've been given has made a significant difference in my health. I play tennis, racquetball, jog and have not had any hip locks and/or lower back pain. Thank you for the treatment and your expertise Dr. Camacho.

  • I was born with a mild scoliosis, which went undetected for nearly 30 years. Out of nowhere I started having unbearable back pain, to the extent I wasn’t able to sit, stand or walk for any periods of time.Lucky for me I came into contact with Dr. Camacho. After a few short months of treatment, I was able to walk with ease. Thank you Dr. Camacho!
